Meet Madison's new Superintendent

The Madison Local Schools Board of Education approved a three-year contract to employ Jeff Staggs as their next Superintendent, effective August 1, 2021. Mr. Staggs will be leaving his position as the Superintendent at Newcomerstown Exempted Village Schools in Tuscarawas Jeff Staggs began his teaching career at Erie County Educational Service Center teaching Severe Behavior Handicap students before teaching Social Studies at Ashland City Schools. He has educational leadership experiences as high school assistant principal; Grades 7-12 athletic director; primary, elementary, and junior high principal.

For the past 17 years, Mr. Staggs has served the families and students of Newcomerstown Exempted Village Schools as their school “I am extremely honored to have been selected as the next superintendent of Madison Local Schools,” Mr. Staggs stated. “Madison Local has a long tradition of excellence, and I am looking forward to the opportunity of working collaboratively to take an already great school district to even higher levels.”

Mr. Staggs is a member of the NewPointe Community Church. He is also a member of the Elks Club. Jeff and his wife, Cindy, are the proud parents of seven children. His oldest children have graduated high school but three of his children will attend Madison Local Schools.
