Girls basketball coach and Madison alumni, Tommy McGuire ‘06 and wife, Erika (Nisbet) McGuire ‘13 lost their son, Nash on April 6th of this year due to a rare and life-threatening fetal disease called Non-Immune Hydrops Fetalis.

In an effort to keep their son’s memory alive, the Madison High School girls' basketball team along with Edgewood, Preble Shawnee, and Waynesville girls’ basketball programs are coming together to raise money in his honor and to bring awareness to the disease. A special “Hoops for Hydrops” benefit game will be held on November 12th at 6:00 pm at Madison Jr/Sr High School.

The games of Waynesville vs. Preble Shawnee and Madison vs. Edgewood will be played in a preview format where each team will play two quarters. Entry is $5 for adults and kids get in free. There will be split the pot, raffle baskets, premium concessions, and a “Chuck a Duck” event. There will also be a chance to win a Nintendo Switch and free Chick-fil-A for a year.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Fetal Health Foundation for Hydrops Fetalis research in Nash's name. Donations will also be accepted at the game that night.
