Gifted Assessment

In order to qualify as gifted a student must score in approximately the top 5% nationally on a state approved test. Referrals for testing will be accepted until April 1, 2017. Any referrals received after that date will be added to the list for testing in autumn.

A referral for testing must be signed by the parent or legal guardian and submitted to Sharon Waits at the high school. Testing referral forms may be found on the district’s website ( under the “Administration” tab. Select “Gifted Education” and then scroll down the page and select “Referral Form to refer a student for gifted identification testing (PDF)”.

Students who have already earned a gifted identification in an area keep that gifted identification throughout their school years, so there is no need to refer them for testing in that area again.
