MES Letter Home 3/18/16

March 18, 2016

As we continue the healing process moving forward, Madison Elementary School and Access Counseling Services are partnering to best provide ongoing support for our students.

Monday, March 21, 2016, the team will begin a counseling outreach plan where elementary students who are referred by a staff member or their parent/guardian will receive a “check in” visit with professional counselors.  The “check in” will provide our counselors a chance to meet with identified students, assess their level of stress management and determine if your child would benefit from additional follow-up.  If your child meets with one of the Access Counselors you will be contacted by telephone to discuss next steps.  All of these services are at no cost to you.

If you would like to refer your child for a “check in” visit with professional counselors based on concerns you have as a connection to the incident on February 29th, please contact Donna Gulino using the contact information below.

If you do NOT want your child to receive a “check in” visit with professional counselors even if they receive a referral from a staff member based on observations in school, you may opt out by contacting Donna Gulino using the contact information below.

Thank you,

Donna Gulino, Guidance Counselor
