MHS Scheduling for 2016-2017 School Year

During the week of February 1st, all high school students will receive a 2016-17 Course Guide with information about course offerings for next year. Students will also receive an unofficial transcript to review his/her current credit standing and to see which classes are still needed to be eligible for graduation in the future.

Please take time to review available options with your child, as we realize your input is imperative throughout the process.

During this time, students will also bring home a Student Registration Sheet to begin making requests for next year. Staff members who teach core subjects (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Foreign Language) will make recommendations during this week to help place students appropriately in the core area classes. Students will mark elective choices on the Schedule Request form, and a parent signature is highly recommended when bringing the form back at the end of this week. This ensures that you are informed of the scheduling decisions being made.

During the week of February 8th, the counselors will begin meeting with high school students during their English class to review core course recommendations and have students choose and prioritize their elective choices. Any concerns with core choices / recommendations should be discussed with the student’s current teacher in that core area. Any additional course changes can be made with your student’s counselor until the last day of school in May.

The schedule change policy and 2016-17 Course Guide is available at

This is an important process for your student’s academic success, and we appreciate your help throughout. Please contact your child’s counselor with any questions or concerns.

Thank you,

Mrs. Conley and Mrs. Reynolds
