Madison Local Schools Announces Varsity Head Football Coach for Fall 2014

MIDDLETOWN, OHIO (March 21, 2014): – The Madison High School Athletic Department has named Steve Poff as the new head coach of the varsity football program.

Coach Poff has worked extensively with the Madison High School Football Program as a varsity assistant since 2011. Poff is a Madison alum and long-time community member with many years of coaching experience at the youth and junior high levels. In 2013, Poff helped to coach the Varsity Football Team to a successful season just short of a playoff run and will continue with high expectation for the 2014 season with 15 seniors returning in the fall.

An Athletic Selection Committee made up of board members, coaches, and community members selected Coach Poff from a pool of 34 initial applicants.

"I am ecstatic to have the opportunity to serve this community as their football coach and continue to work with the young men I have grown to love and respect," Poff stated after he accepted the position. He went on to say, "I believe this program is on the fringe of doing great things. We have come a long way and I cannot wait to see where we can take it.”

Coach Poff will be presented to the Madison Board of Education for approval in April. Following approval, Poff will officially meet with the athletes in early April.
