Kindergarten Staggered Start - Day 1
- Kindergarten Staggered Start - Day 1
- Madison Elementary School
Beginning Kindergarten is a big milestone and can be overwhelming for our young students. To help make this transition as smooth as possible, we are implementing a staggered start to Kindergarten. The reason for the staggered start is so that your child can have a positive first day of school with fewer students in the classroom. By staggering the start of classes, smaller groups of students can ease into the school year, get to know their teachers, navigate through the building, and learn about school expectations and procedures. This orientation will alleviate a lot of problems down the road.
The staggered start will take place during the first two days of school on Monday, August 20th and Tuesday, August 21st.
Your child will attend school on ONE of these two days. Your child will be assigned a staggered start “first” day of school in August. ALL Kindergartners will come to school on August 22nd.
Again, your child will attend school on the assigned staggered start date ONLY and then attend school every day beginning August 22nd . We hope you and your child will find this a positive and beneficial way of beginning the Kindergarten school year.
